You've likely seen this plant growing in forested areas, on the prairies, or in the ditches as you wander to the mountains. Fireweed is considered by some as an invasive plant yet to many more, it is a spectacular healer and friend to the body.
The notable pink/purple blossoms and the slender green leaves growing so tall they can reach up to 9', fireweed is useful from root to flower.
After a forest fire, it is fireweed that begins to populate among the first of the botanicals. It begins to propagate the forest biome. Which is no different than what it can also do for your GUT biome.
The leaves of fireweed area tonic; a natural healer for the stomach lining. It balances the ph that is necessary for healthy digestion, becoming instrumental in healing damage from an unhealthy diet that has caused leaky gut with the creation of healthy bacteria, anti-fungal properties, and its ability to start moving toxins out and inserting nutrients in. Beyond the gut biome it is working through the entire intestinal system as a gentle, yet effective anti-inflammatory that helps conditions including diarrhea, stomach, and intestinal inflammation. Fireweed even assists in the treatment of Candida in the body. This is a plant I keep stocked in my apothecary because it covers nearly everything.
Fireweed is also used for the recovery of skin ailments, gum sores, sore throats, congestion, coughs, asthma, and so so much more. It is one of my favourite plants to forage and use on a daily basis. I have learned through native cultures to ferment my fireweed and increase the flavour and healing qualities. A method that though not necessary in order to have benefit, makes a better product in the end. Fireweed leaves have tannins and are treated just like a tea leaf. When I am working with a client in any type of coaching, they are always provided with a tea containing fireweed to use on a daily basis, because the power of fireweed is not even quantifiable to me. It is a must have when we are healing the body on any level. Do you want to start enjoying the benefits of fireweed in your daily routine?
