The secrets to my healthy lifestyle

Updated: May 19

I often get asked what my personal practices are for healthy and vibrant living. What keeps me youthful and living with abundant health?

I don't know that I could sum up in a 5 point chart what those things are, but I can absolutely share some of the things that I practice very unconsciously and also consciously with intent.

  1. The first thing I can share is my end of day routine. Priming my cup of manifestations. What I mean by that is, every night I have a particular habit that I follow under the guidance of my best friend, Craig Leo Nolin. We have been exploring all kinds of theories on a multitude of topics for years. One of them, is seeking the innerstanding of how to create what we know is possible and already here for us. Craig devised one night that the power of including our achievements and celebrations for the day was vital to the process of expecting and seeing that which we were creating in our universe's. And he was right. Each night now, as a standard and habitual practice, as I lay in my bed and begin to fall asleep, I go over all the achievements of the day. Things I have accomplished no matter how great or small. "I vacuumed and mopped. I finished my taxes. I sent out that order. I got the kids the shoes they needed". What I noticed was that this practice invoked gratitude in my heart as well as feeling satisfied in myself. Anything else my mind would try to view as I slept, such as the "things I have to do or didn't do", is placed on the shelf for the next day. I never visit those things at the end of the day. I can write them down in the calendar, but that is all. They are "worries for tomorrow". Calculating accomplishments, being in gratitude, leaving worries for tomorrow, it all keeps you present and grounded. And that is a perfect place for you to further the works of making things manifest.

  2. Something else I do daily is care for my physical body with nutritive herbs, roots, and berries. Medicinal plants are fantastic for remedying ailments and I use these very often. But as a standard each day I offer and partake with my body, nutritive plants in teas, protein shakes and bars, as well as capsules if I need a bigger boost throughout the day. Some of my favourites are Lemon Balm, dandelion, horsetail, oat straw, moringa, burdock, kelp, blueberries, and stinging nettle. Though there are so many more to choose from! Nutritive plants have a large quantity of vitamins and minerals that aid the body in regeneration, supplementation, and fortification. What better way to increase the health of our physical body than by adding these powerhouses to our daily routines. I don't drink alot of alcohol; almost none, and this affords my body the desire to keep wanting the energy boosts of mother nature. Alcohol dims the senses and neurology of desire for high vibrational foods. The more you drink the less you choose what nature is sharing.

  3. One last thing I do very often to increase vitality, is the practice of Self-reflection and meditation. Journalling, frequency bathing with varying artists or sound bowls, walking barefoot in the grass or sand, listening to the birds while tuning out the rest of the sounds, or closing my eyes while eating a piece of fruit to really experience that moment. It is the practice of taking a little time out for me, to see me, feel me, hear me; through the world around me. I hope this has led you to see yourself and your own world a little differently today and inspired you to find new or perhaps heightened ways to increase the life and wellness of your own body. Aging is a beautiful thing. But not necessary in ways that take our life force when we have such a bounty of ways to stay young in heart, and live without the burdens of dis-ease in body and mind.
